Milo's first art session

We turned Milo loose with finger paints this evening.

He is quite the artiste, don't you think?

He obviously thinks so.

Looks like we read the wrong parenting guides.

Monday morning giggles

While I usually post my weekly update Tuesday or Wednesday, this week I have a monthly update for you, courtesy of Let's Panic About Babies:

Seventh Month: Are we done yet? Not even close!

What’s Going On Up In There?
This month your baby is heading into the home stretch and finishing up her developmental touches. She will grow up to three feet in length from crown to rump, and of course will develop the thick layer of subdermal blubber she’ll need to insulate her those frigid winter months. Continue to eat all the clams, sea cucumbers, and cephalopods you want, mama!

Here’s Your Baby!

Guess what?
You have magically morphed from “noticeably pregnant” to “kind of freaky pregnant.” Strangers will laugh at you. Instead of taking it personally, delight in your ability to brighten their otherwise bleak existences!
I have a doctor's appointment tomorrow, so I'm going to double-check these "facts" with her. I'll let you know how that goes.

Sunday Funny

In a case of art imitating life or something like that, the baby name game continues in one of my favorite -- albeit sometimes baffling -- comic strips.

Probably inappropriate

and mostly NSFW.  Still, I laughed.

At 39, Christina Applegate will become a first-time mom in February. And yep, like other older moms, she's still hot.

Sunday Funny

It's Sunday. And while I'm always fairly lazy, I'm especially lazy on the weekends. Still, I'm not about to give up on NaBloPoMo this late in the game.

So in lieu of an actual post, I'm linking to this: Regarding Advanced Maternal Age. It's funny and totally fits with the theme of my site.

Here's a sample:
Male doctors, especially, are behind the times on this relatively recent older-mom trend. If your OB/GYN used to be your mom’s pediatrician, smokes a cigar while performing your exam, or insists that pap smears are “nothing but hoodoo,” it’s time to find a new practitioner–one who’s a little more “with it.”
The entire Let's Panic site is pretty darn funny -- whether or not you're pregnant or a parent.
